Traffic Environment
The veDYNA Traffic module is a versatile simulation tool for the development and the test of driver assistance systems, such as distance controllers, lane keeping assistance and parking assistance, in a virtual traffic environment. Besides fellow vehicles and obstacles it is possible to include existing or user-defined models for sensors.
Thus, also environmental information can be considered, which is e.g. picked up by radar, lidar, infrared or video sensors. The open architecture of the vehicle model in Matlab/Simulink allows both the development of function prototypes as well as the test and application of the associated electronic control units in software- and hardware-in-the-loop test benches. Networking active and passive safety systems may be integrated into the model and tested efficiently, economically and under reproducible conditions in the laboratory.
Preconfigured Matlab procedures for typical traffic situations, such as following the heading vehicle, triggered speed changes or cutting in of the heading car, support the developer in defining and performing standard tests. User-defined scenarios with different vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy trucks, arbitrary courses and precisely definable behaviour of the fellow cars can be configured via graphical user interfaces.
